Lindsay Foster – Owner and Therapist

Lindsay Foster, LSCSW, LMSW, RPT is the Owner of Creative Insight Counseling, LLC, and serves as a lead psychotherapist providing individual, family, and play therapy services.

Lindsay has been working with children, adolescents, adults, and families since 2005, with a primary specialization in working with children. She is a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) and has advanced training and extensive experience in using play therapy to support children in expressing emotions, processing experiences, and building healthy coping skills in developmentally appropriate ways. Since opening Creative Insight Counseling in 2016, she has continued to expand her commitment to providing high-quality, individualized mental health care for the community.

She has extensive experience treating a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, attachment, adjustment to life transitions, self-esteem challenges, trauma.

Her clinical approach is direct, compassionate, and grounded in practical insight. Lindsay is known for quickly identifying core issues while maintaining a strong therapeutic alliance with clients. She values creativity in treatment and tailors her approach to meet the unique needs of each individual and family she works with.

Lindsay has held a variety of professional roles throughout her career. She completed an internship at ReDiscover Mental Health Agency in the Women’s Substance Abuse Program and contributed to grant development for the agency’s Hospital Diversion Initiative. She has also worked as a youth counselor at Ozanam, a case manager at the Wyandot Center serving children and families with severe emotional disturbance (SED), and supported the implementation of a School Social Work Program at Southwest Early College Campus within Kansas City Public Schools.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Kansas and her Master of Social Work from the University of Missouri–Kansas City. Lindsay is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW) and a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Kansas as well as a Registered Play Therapist.

Outside of her professional work, Lindsay enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons. She is an avid fan of KU basketball, the Kansas City Royals, and the Kansas City Chiefs. She also enjoys traveling, especially trips to the beach, and spending time with family and friends.
